Dragi colegi, va retransmit mesajul Domnului prof. de geografie Rien Geurts, presedintele sectiunii olandeze a AEDE, privitor la un liceu olandez, care cauta partener Comenius in Romania

Dear Friends,
As you know I am retired now from every-day-school-life but still vividly active as president of the Dutch section AEDE-NL.
Knowing you all more or less personally I write this mail directly to you. What's my request ?
At my wife's school - here in 's-Hertogenbosch in The Netherlands - an application for a coming Comenius project is at stake because of lack of partners.
The school is a lycée. The project is meant for students 16-17 years of age. The application is already written and with respect to content of very high quality.
PROJECT: Comenius School Partnership 2013-2015
PARTNERS: Ds Pierson College (Netherlands), Science Highschool (Ankara, Turkey), Public Highschool Igualada (Igualda, Catalunya / Spain).

TITLE: ISIS (= Inquiry into Sustainability In Schools)
MAIN OBJECTIVES:
- Create awareness of how we all have impact on the environment
- Come up with solutions on how to reduce that impact on a personal, school and local level
- Develop skills in entrepeneurship by giving the pupils responsibility for the way the project takes shape, using negociation abilities and recognizing or creating the opportunity to take action aimed at realizing the innovative practices or products.
- Stimulate the cooperation and increase knowledge on cultural diversity between students and teachers of the participating countries
- Improve the use of English as a working language and ICT and research skills
- Improve cross-curricular approaches thus involving teachers of different subject areas, and enable teachers to exchange material and ideas about teaching strategies


ACTIVITIES:
-Students will assess their impact on the environment by using Ecological Footprint. Results are turned into statistics which act as an incentive for all to improve behavior.
-International teams investigate one topic, e.g. clothing, food, energy use, travel habits, water use or waste management.
-Students from each school will meet during exchanges and represent their classmates. They will be assigned responsibilities for the meeting and compare their results and give each other feed-back.
-Teams will look into sustainability at school level, topics depending on the focus chosen by the groups. Teams will focus on sustainability in the local communiy, e.g. water and waste management, sustainable building, availability of organic grown food.
-Students will organise an exhibition at their school, and possible at their municipality/library and will give advice on how improvements can be made within the schools and to the city council, or consumers in general
-Students will create and play a collective performance on sustainability during the last meeting
-Students will use eJournal/Moodle/blog to communicate
